I realize this isnt the full version "app" book, but the "lite" version. None-the-less, I bought the hardback book when it was first released, and I didnt pay anything near $19.99 for it. I paid $12.99, and it wasnt on sale anything. The comic book store had it priced at $12.99. I think the suggested retail price was $19.99, but I have to say... Its not worth $19.99. Even the digitized version for your iPad/iPhone is worth $19.99! To start off with, its not the whole book, but just part 1 of a planned series of 3 or 4 books in all to represent the first book Twilight. If the publisher is expecting all the fans out there to fork over $20 every time they finally release a part of the series for a single book in whatever medium (or multiple mediums as many of us do tend to do), then Im afraid they are going to be in for a massive let down and disappointment. To price a multi book series for a single novel more than the original novel, is asking too much.
In reviewing the art and etc., the art is actually pretty good... though very bland as it is entirely in black & white. It would have been significantly better had it been presented in full color rather than just b&w. The story-line follows the novel fairly well, but it is an adaptation, just like the movie. Fans of the Twilight series will certainly enjoy reading the graphic novel version, especially younger kids, but adults will get equal enjoyment out of it. Just be fore warned that its all in b&w and it isnt verbatim to the novel. Its difficult enough condensing a well done graphic novel of a full popular novel down to size without it being too heavy or cost prohibitive to publish, but come on... Even the other publishing houses are asking less for their digitized versions of their published hard copy comics and graphic novels. Asking $20 for a printed version is one thing, but another digitized...
