Update: Now that theres a full version available to go along with this lite version, my only quibble is rescinded. Great job, Hachette!
Original review:
The graphic novel itself is well done; I really like the character designs. The e-comic interface is actually quite nice, which I didnt expect. Rotation is cool, where you get a seamless 2-page spread in landscape orientation, and single pages in portrait. Very pretty.
And then I get to the last page and instead of a link to the App Store its like, "Did you enjoy it? Then travel back in time to the 20th century and buy it in a bookstore somewhere!" Wait, what? Youre not going to sell me the full thing as an app? I have to go buy some paper book where the inner edges of the 2-page spreads get all buried in the binding? Having seen this much of it on the iPads beautiful screen, I want the rest of it there too.
So close! Hachette almost got it right! Just sell me an app of the full thing, and well be all set.
